Police Arrest 3 Accused of Shooting Oklahoma City Officer

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Police have arrested three people accused of shooting an Oklahoma City police officer Sunday night. Investigators say 27-year-old officer Katie Lawson had just finished helping an Oklahoma County Sheriff's deputy arrest a man, Hector Mercado, for DUI. Shortly after Lawson left that scene, someone with a gun opened fire on her car in the 3900 block of North Miller. Officer Lawson was hit, but managed to return fire and call for help. Memorial service for Tokuoka, Wallace fills Hoonah's hearts

HOONAH - Hundreds of people lined the deck of the Hoonah Ferry Terminal on Wednesday, waiting for the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry Malaspina to bring the remains of Anthony Wallace and Matthew Tokuoka to this small Tlingit community. Hundreds more waited at the terminal gates, and still hundreds more lined the streets and waited inside the Hoonah Junior/Senior High School gymnasium as the families of the two Hoonah police officers and accompanying law enforcement personnel arrived, along with the urns. Villaraigosa call officers who fatally shot man 'heroes'

Los Angeles police who confronted and fatally shot an apparently drunk man with a knife who was threatening a pregnant woman and her child is a hero, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa asserted Wednesday. Boozed-up ex-Brooklyn cop pleads guilty to mowing down woman, faces only 90 days

The boozed-up NYPD cop who fatally mowed down a Brooklyn woman last year pleaded guilty today and faces 90 days behind bars, authorities said. Officer Andrew Kelly, assigned to the 68th Precinct in Bay Ridge, was found reeking of alcohol with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes after his Jeep struck 33-year-old Vionique Valnord, the daughter of a minister, as she left a wedding at around 12:41 a.m. in Flatlands on Sept. 28, 2009.
